Paul Ruse
Paul qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and specialises in Criminal Law. As a solicitor-advocate he appears regularly at Magistrates Courts and Crown Courts.
Paul believes strongly in fairness within the criminal justice system and in ensuring that his clients rights are protected throughout. Paul is a committed defence solicitor and has practised criminal law throughout his legal career. He is the head of this firms criminal law department and is also a police station and court appointed duty solicitor.
Paul is a former Partner and was instrumental in securing Legal Aid Agency contracts so that we can offer our clients publicly funded representation in criminal law proceedings. He continues to be the firm’s legal aid contract manager and a criminal law supervisor.
Paul introduced a “cradle to grave” file management system moving the firm away from the traditional departmental approach to representing criminal law clients. He believes passionately that this system promotes a trusting relationship between client and solicitor, provides the client with a point of reference within the firm and that it provides a service tailored to suit the clients needs.
Paul has had conduct of some of this firms most high profile criminal cases and is experienced in dealing with the media. He has featured in the national press, on television and radio. Paul lives locally with his family. In his spare time he likes to compete in cycling and triathlon competions. Paul recently led a team that cycled 500 miles across the Pyrenees mountains in less than 100 hours.
